With a recent surge in interest in MORE VARIETY, we're excited to now offer 3 CLASSES on our NEW Firehouse Swing Class Schedule. We've got our regular Lindy 1 & 2 Classes from 7-8p, and now we've added a new Speciality Class from 8-9p that varies for each month.

PLEASE NOTE: For those of you who just want to swing dance, our new Class Schedule DOES NOT AFFECT our regular dancing hours. Open Swing Dancing will still remain in the Main Room from 8-11:30p (except for LIVE MUSIC nights). Starting Wed. Jan. 6th, our FREE Intro to Lindy Class will be moved to the Back Room from 9-9:30p. Please make a note of these changes. All ages are welcome!

For over 10 years, the Firehouse Swing Dance has been THE place in San Diego where all the hepcats and hepkittens congregate. Originally located at the San Diego Center for Moving Arts (a renovated "firehouse") and the La Jolla Firehouse, the Firehouse Swing Dance is now located at the spacious San Diego's Woman's Club. Founded in 1892, it's the perfect vintage swing venue. With a smooth dance floor, open bar, and eight of the best swing instructors in town, the Firehouse Swing Dance is a great place to experience the joy of swing dancing, get some exercise, hang out with friends, and perhaps, even meet the love of your life -- we have testimonials to prove it! Come join in the fun each and every Wednesday night from 7-11:30p. We'll see you on the dance floor.
BEG. 6-COUNT LINDY: BEGINNERS ALWAYS WELCOME!
Taught by Meeshi and Missy, this class will review the fundamental patterns of social Lindy Hop swing dancing (closed basic, open basic, inside and outside turns) plus learn fun social dance variations (cuddle, spin, dips, etc.) and tricks to make fast swing dancing easy and fun!
BEG 8-COUNT LINDY: BEGINNERS ALWAYS WELCOME!
Taught by Meeshi and Jasmine, this class is geared for those with little to no previous partner dance experience. In this session, you will learn the fundamental patterns of social swing dancing found on dance floors today. This month, we focus on the 8-count Lindy swingout and its variations (inside whip, outside whip, circle, turns).
BEG/INT LINDY: PREREQUISITE: BEG 6-COUNT & 8-COUNT LINDY
Taught by Meeshi and Jasmine, this month we're focusing on how to connect with and phrase your dancing to swing music. Come learn how to speed up and slow down your spins, dips and tricks to better fit the musict. Warning: We assume mastery of your 6- & 8-count basics!
BEG BALBOA: GEARED FOR THOSE NEW TO BALBOA DANCING
Taught by Nate and Tertia, this class will introduce you to one of the most popular swing styles danced today. Pure Balboa is danced chest to chest and very upright, with an emphasis on footwork and rhythm changes. Bal-Swing takes the basic Balboa footwork & stance, and throws in breakaways, turns, Lolly Kicks, and even the odd aerial.

The Firehouse Swing Dance is held every Wednesday night at the San Diego Woman's Club (2557 3rd Ave., SD, CA 92103), corner of 3rd and Maple in Hillcrest/Banker's Hill, just west of Balboa Park.
